Conifex has developed positive relations with local aboriginal groups and Nak’azdli, Tl’azt’en and Takla First Nations are all shareholders of Conifex.  In addition, Conifex provides for native employment in sawmill and harvesting operations, as well as supplying certain sawmill by-products to an aboriginal owned and operated finger-joint plant.  Conifex also contracts with various aboriginal companies to provide various services and products, such as log procurement, harvesting and silviculture activities.
